A groundbreaking deal with fast-food giant McDonalds’ to grant Ontario college credits for corporate training is being slammed as “a chilling precedent for outsourcing public education to private corporations.” Warren “Smokey” Thomas, head of the Ontario Public Services Employees Union (OPSEU), which represents college faculty, says the province-wide deal, led by London’s Fanshawe College, could cause college degrees to be “cheapened” in the eyes of employers. Read the full article here in The London Free Press.
