The first week in May is traditionally recognized as Education Week and OPSEU/SEFPO is proud to represent tens of thousands of members at all levels of the education system.

The last year has been a roller coaster ride for education professionals at all levels and in all sectors. You have been coping with the daily threat of COVID-19 exposures in classrooms and labs; working hard to learn new technologies and teaching methods overnight; and in some cases, reeling from the layoff of long-time co-workers.

As education members in public and post-secondary education, you have given your all to provide much-needed support to Ontario’s students and their families throughout this crisis. You have been a rock-solid shoulder for them to lean on.

Education members have many concerns and ideas to improve the delivery of education and we are raising them with the government on a daily basis. The government has listened to us on a number of issues and we’ll continue bringing your concerns and recommendations forward.

We salute and thank education members for your outstanding efforts. You can be sure that everyone in Ontario appreciates your professionalism and dedication.

You’re making a real, concrete difference in the lives of millions of Ontarians and OPSEU/SEFPO is proud to stand with you.

In solidarity,

OPSEU/SEFPO President Warren (Smokey) Thomas
Eduardo (Eddy) Almeida, OPSEU/SEFPO First Vice-President/Treasurer
